First distilled in 1973, Longrow is the double distilled, heavily peated style Single Malt from the Springbank Distillery. This Longrow 21 years is a limited edtion, reportedly matured in 60% of sherry cask and 40% of bourbon cask, bottled in 2019 with 3600 bottles released. Nose: A sweet yet meaty dram there are aromas of glazed cherries and cured salty meats. Stewed dark plummy notes and chewy black wine gums. Maple syrup and crispy bacon with a medicinal influence from the robust peat smoke. It seems brighter on the nose with a touch of zesty orange peel. Palate: Sweet, smoky and waxy with a twist of citrus. Caramel shortbread with marzipan, lemon zest and a dusting of icing sugar. Waxy crayons and rich dried fruits with a touch of clove spiciness.
