Tullibardine
Located in Blackford, the gateway to the Highlands and originally established as a brewery (in 1488 young King James IV of Scotland stopped by on his way to/from his coronation to buy some beer from this local brewery) it was converted into a distillery in 1947. King James IV is also the King who famously asked Friar John Cor to make aqua vitae from eight bolls of malt in 1495 - the first recorded history of Malt Whisky in Scotland.
Historically a light nutty malt popular in blends, as a single malt the attempt has been to bring in more floral notes to the present and bring down the nuttiness at Tullibardine.
