Inchgower

Inchgower was established in 1871 by Alexander Wilson & Company by using equipment from the defunct Tochineal distillery. However, the distillery itself went bankrupt and was eventually saved/purchased by the local town council and eventually became a part of Diageo. Most of the spirit distilled at the site has been/is used within blends (such as the Bell's and Walker range) and single malt bottlings have been far and few in between (such as the Flora & Fauna range or the 'Rare Malts Collection').

A shorter fermentation along with steep lyne arms to produce a somewhat heavier spirit which tends to have coastal notes, spiciness and a certain waxiness generally characterizes whisky from Inchgower.
