Distilled in the Winter of 1983 (most likely in the first few months of 1983 before the Port Ellen Distillery closed permanently in May 1983) at Port Ellen and matured in a Sherry Butt for 25 Years, this rare single malt was bottled by Douglas McGibbon & Co in Autumn in 2008. "On the nose, this Port Ellen is oceanic with seaweed, iodine and a character of fresh leather. The palate opens with rich smoke and creasote and develops sweetness with burnt caramel. The finish remains sweet with bonfire ashes and cloves" - Bottler Tasting Notes.

An old presentation (released around 2013) bottle of "The Balvenie 30 Year Old", crafted by malt master David Stewart by vatting Whisky matured in traditional and European oak casks. In our opinion this is indeed a masterpiece and showcases the skills of the malt master in creating a beautifully balanced and impressive aged whisky bottled at a higher ABV of 47.3%. Rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelized pear.
This series has been a Gold Medal winner at the 2004 IWSC and the 2013 release won a Gold Outstanding at the IWSC and Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2013.

Rated 90+ on Whiskybase across 21 votes. "..Excellent, all on olive 'juice' (I like that), anchovies again, smoked fish, a little cider, oysters again (just any breed)... Not much medicinal notes and the peatiness is, say 'controlled'. Very good. Finish: long and extremely briny and salty. Bottled in 2014, this is a distillery bottling with 4530 bottles released by Diageo as a part of its limited releases. The distillery, one of the iconic distilleries in Lowland region of Scotland, was closed in 1993 (a year after this liquid was distilled) and is currently in the process of being revived by Ian Macleod Distillers. This bottling has been rated at 90+ points on Whiskybase over 160 votes. Matured in a Refill American Oak, it is an excellent whisky with cereal notes, floral freshness, mint, citrus zest, fresh fruits and an elegant finish. A rare bottling indeed.

Only 2137 bottles were released. Color: Deep walnut brown. Nose: black grapes with antique leather, leaf tobacco. Distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2010, this special bottling by Silver Seal offers rich, fruity, and earthy flavours together with some notes of orange and toffee. Silver Seal was founded by Ernesto Mainardi in 2000, which was his second bottling company after the esteemed Sestante established in 1979. Both companies were sold to Massimo Righi, proprietor of Whisky Antique, in 2010.
