One of 660, 47.5%, 70cl. Glenfarclas 50 Year Old Collector Series III: Bottled on 24th April 2015. One of 937, 41.1%, 70cl. Glenfarclas 1981 Port Cask Collector Series IV: Distilled on 16th January 1981, bottled on 19th May 2016 from single Port Cask # 521. One of 521, 47.9%, 70cl. Distilled in 1948 from barley harvested in the late summer of 1947 (mashed and fermented in the last hours of 1947), this release was matured in three Spanish Oak Sherry Casks in the Easter Elchies Estate at Macallan. 366 bottles were released. Each bottle represents a day (and is hand numbered as such with a specific day from the year of 1948, which being a leap year had 366 days). This bottle is numbered with the date of 25th August. Including a signed certificate of guarantee. This is quite a different Macallan than the usual heavy sherry bottlings and instead has a very clean, fruity with some phenolic/subtle smoke notes and surprisingly youthful for such an aged malt.

This Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in June 1990 at the Macallan Distillery and aged for 31 years in an ex-Bourbon cask. In 2021, it was finished in a Mizunara Japanese Oak cask, sourced from Hokkaido's slow-growing, 200-year-old trees, which offer a tight grain ideal for maturation. This unique process makes the whisky as rare a whisky as this 1990 Macallan a bold endeavor. The resulting spirit is, the final piece in this unique journey through whisky history.
This release is the longest Macallan finished in Mizunara, having spent nearly two years in the cask. The accompanying box, made from Nazareno (purple heart) wood, features a sliding door design using rare earth magnets, completing the trilogy in style.
