Matured in refill American oak hogsheads & ex-bourbon barrels, this Pittyvaich bottling was part of Diageo's Special Releases in 2015. Lots of nutty cereal and almond notes, with mango and lemon tart. Very moreish. Established in 1975 and closed in 1993, this Speyside distillery with a short lived history is rarely seen as a Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Very interestingly this bottling is older than the distillery's life itself Nose: Fragrant, malty cereals with a syrupy and creamy note. Palate: Floral with malt, a heavy and rich thick palate with some natural waxiness at the same time Finish: Subtle oak overlayed with white and dark chocolate tones.
About 6,000 bottles were released globally.

A discontinued bottling and much difficult to find, this is one of the few Ardbegs with an age statement. The first bottling of the 17 years old marked the revival of Ardbeg's legacy after the new owners Glenmorangie took over in 1997 but was sadly discontinued thereafter. Gentle peat bringing though a mix of malt and vanillins on the nose. Peat is more present on the palate with a chewy middle and touch of cocoa. Finishes with a hint of liquorice and dry toast and continues for some time. Please note the slight damage on the box. Comes with original insert. Sold in "as is" condition.

One of 2012's most hotly-anticipated releases, Ardbeg Galileo is made up from casks distilled in 1999, some of which spent their full term of maturation in casks that previously held Marsala wine, imparting sweet tropical fruit flavours to the mix. Galileo's concept celebrates the well-publicised experiment whereby small quantities of Ardbeg were sent into space at the end of 2011 to see how they mature in zero gravity. Colour: gold Nose: cream, citrus fruits with malt and brown sugar, some cloves Palate: Sweet, citrus fruits, some herbs, honey and spices such as cinnamon, cloves. Finish: Stays for a while with subtle notes of mint.
