A rare old bottling from Highland Park distilled in 1977 and bottled in 1998 to celebrate the Bicentenary (200 golden years from 1798 to 1998) of the distillery. A very popular bottling when released and a rare bottle of whisky which is difficult to find.
Originally about 12000 bottles are estimated to have been released with a further 690 bottles released in 2008 (these 690 bottles were originally set aside apparently for samples and tasting but were "forgotten" and eventually found and released for the Japanese market with a slightly different wooden box).

Distilled in 1984, this was bottled from a first fill sherry cask #3663 in 2013. Only 354 bottles were released. It was specially selected by Number One Drinks for Speciality Drinks (which operates Whisky Exchange). Nose: Spices such as cloves balanced by some savoury notes, some oriental sandalwood, cedar/polished oak and some earthy tones and dark leather. Palate: Rich and thick with plum syrup, raisins and cloves, black cherries, coffee beans, ginger, toffee and dark cocoa bars. Some tobacco, liquorice and wood spices, some aniseed and nutmeg. Finish: Savoury, earthy and long. Hint of pepper and spices with plenty of sweet oak and coffee. A delicious whisky which is extremely rare to find.

Since closing in 2011, Karuizawa (once, the smallest whisky distillery in Japan), has gained significant interest over the last few years. This 30 year old Karuizawa was distilled in August 1985 and bottled in August 2015 after being matured in an ex-sherry cask #2364. Selected by French spirit specialists La Maison du Whisky, this bottling is one of the "Artifices Series", which feature labels designed by different artists. The label for this bottling was designed by Warren Khong from Singapore.
