The 1981 Kioke Shikomi is regarded to be largely Hakushu (label states Pure Malt) and reportedly bottled in 2005. The name implies "matured in wooden tubs". The 1991 Furudaru Shiage (meaning "old barrel finish") is a pure malt vatting of reportedly Yamazaki & Hakushu distilleries. It was also bottled in 2005. The distillation technique seems to have involved the direct fire method and bamboo charcoal filteration. Discontinued in 1999. Both bottles come with their original boxes.

This Islay single malt from Port Ellen distillery is an independent bottle from The McGibbon's Provenance Range, distilled in Winter of 1982, matured in a Sherry Cask and bottled in Summer of 2005. This is a single cask and bottled at natural cask strength, exclusive to John Milroy. Light golden color with an elegant long lingering aroma of peat and smoke. Fills the palate with an exquisite coating of tarry seaweed infused with sublime smokey peat and a long nutty fruit finish. Enhanced by the addition of a little water.
Closed in 1983, Port Ellen has since become a highly collectible whisky and one with a great fan following.

Only 300 bottles were made available in Japan followed by an undisclosed number for worldwide markets. Nose: Cacao, Manuka Honey, Dark Chocolate. Palate: Soft sweetness interlaced with a hint of drak chocolate bitterness. Finish: smooth and again some dark chocolate notes.

As many Shinshu Mars Whisky enthusiasts would suggest the American White Oak maturation works very well for the distillery and this bottling is a unique Single Cask at a high ABV of 58%. We understand that only 378 bottles are supposed to have been released.
No box is available. Please also note the level of the Whisky. Seal and bottling are in good condition with some stains on the back label. Sold in "As Is" condition.

This Islay single malt from Port Ellen distillery is an independent bottle from The McGibbon's Provenance range, distilled in Spring of 1983, matured in single sherry butt #2102 and bottled in Summer of 2005. "A marriage of the sea and fruitiness on the nose, enjoy its saline and marine quality alongside the nuances of its Sherry Cask heritage. On the palate, an initially dry fore-taste runs to pepperiness, softened by the characteristics of the cask. The finish is long, warming, smokey plus the archetypal old leather from Port Ellen which runs on and on, tinged late by sea-weed and iodine. (Tasting Notes from the Bottler). This 1978 Vintage Collection from the Highland Park Distillery was originally crafted exclusively for Global Travel Retail and bottled in 2011. Nose: Cedar wood, spicy cinnamon bark and camphor. Cloudy honey with hints of ripe melon and lemon peel. Palate: Rich and spicy. Sweet marinated stem ginger, toasted wood, and hints of jasmine. Finish: Long sweet with lingering spiciness. This bottling is a homage to the Vikings' love of travel presented in a beautiful oak box, with the image of an ornate dragon's head and which catpures the spirit of Viking craftsmanship.

This 1988 Vintage 35 Years Old from the Bunnahabhain Distillery is a special bottling by Whisky Antique (Silver Seal) from a Single Cask #1024. Matured in a Sherry Cask for 35 Years and bottled at 46.5% this release of 60 bottles has a special label designed by The East Asia Whisky Company under the Manta Ray Genesis Edition.
The label captures the silhouette of a majestic Manta Ray made visible by the dark emerald and frigid pink clouds that emanate from its dotted pattern radiating in the colors of the marine environment it inhabits.

Whisky Fun Extract: Colour: mahogany. Nose: this is more old-school than the House of Lords. Not talking about the Scotch whisky. Prunes, old cognac, dates, chocolate, figs, whiffs of moss and old pine wood, a few mushrooms and a little liquorice, plus a few roasted nuts, especially pecans. Mouth: we're deeply reminded of some old Speyside malts by G&M. Like pre-war, bottled in the 1970s and 1980s. It is a time machine! More bouillons, chocolate, pipe tobacco, liquorice, truffles, puréed chestnuts, pears poached in Sauternes, very old Sauternes, very old Malaga… It is definitely very 'antique'. I would love to watch young whisky enthusiasts tasting this whisky, or similar whiskies, for the very first time. It would undoubtedly be a real revelation, as they are becoming so rare. Finish: rather long, rather sublime to tell you the truth. Comments: as I sometimes say, we could spend hours sipping a magnum of each to try, and fail to decide which one, between the Kinship and the Silver Seal, is our favourite.
