It features vibrant fruity aromas that capture the essence of Yakushima.

Fresh citrus and stewed fruits. Very crisp, fresh and enjoyable and a great entry to the aged whiskies from this distillery located in Sendai in Northern Japan. Sadly discontinued and a rarity. This bottling (estimated from around 2000s) label spells "Miyagikyou" on its label and is an earlier version of the 10 Year Old bottling with "Miyagikyo" on its label.

Miyagikyo 10 Years Single Malt Japanese Whisky is from the Miyagikyo distillery, founded by Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. Located in Miyagi Prefecture, the distillery is renowned for its elegant, fruity whiskies made with various malted barleys and unique techniques. The whisky is distilled in traditional pot stills and matured in a mix of American oak, sherry, and other cask types, enhancing its complexity and richness.

The location for the Miyagikyo distillery was chosen for its high humidity levels. This particular bottling (estimated from around 2000s) has "Miyagikyou" on its label as opposed to later bottlings which spell it as "Miyagikyo".
