A blend of hand-selected Jamaican Rums, including some of the finest aged rums distilled in Jamaican Pot Still, this rum which has been finished for at least 12 months in Ex-Oloroso Sherry Casks. Navy Island is a small tropical island off the coast of Port Antonio, Jamaica. In the 18th century, the island was used by the British Royal Navy (hence the name).  

This rum takes on the dark flavours of the  Sherry cask including dark dried fruits, figs, raisins balanced by an inherent nuttiness.

Nose: Delicate notes of oloroso sherry, raisins and citrus in combination with heavy aromas of Jamaican Rum.

Palate: Powerful and spicy with subtle hints of raisins and apricots.

Finish: Full and long with hint of spicy finish

This rare Port Ellen distilled in March 1983 (just prior to being closed in May 1983) was matured in a refill hogshead. About 162 bottles were released in March 2011 by Douglas Liang & Co under their Old Malt Cask range of bottlings.

Distilled in the Winter of 1983 (most likely in the first few months of 1983 before the Port Ellen Distillery closed permanently in May 1983) at Port Ellen and matured in a Sherry Butt for 25 Years, this rare single malt was bottled by Douglas McGibbon & Co in Autumn in 2008. "On the nose, this Port Ellen is oceanic with seaweed, iodine and a character of fresh leather. The palate opens with rich smoke and creasote and develops sweetness with burnt caramel. The finish remains sweet with bonfire ashes and cloves" - Bottler Tasting Notes.

This Islay single malt from Port Ellen distillery is an independent bottle from The McGibnon's Provenance range, distilled in Spring of 1983, matured in single sherry butt #2102 and bottled in Summer of 2005. "A marriage of the sea and fruitiness on the nose, enjoy its saline and marine quality alongside the nuances of its Sherry Cask heritage. On the palate, an initially dry fore-taste runs to pepperiness, softened by the characteristics of the cask. The finish is long, warming, smokey plus the archetypal old leather from Port Ellen which runs on and on, tinged late by sea-weed and iodine. (Tasting Notes from the Bottler). Closed in 1983, Port Ellen has since become a highly collectible whisky and one with a great fan following.

This Islay single malt from Port Ellen distillery is an independent bottle from The McGibbon's Provenance Range, distilled in Winter of 1982, matured in a Sherry Cask and bottled in Summer of 2005. This is a single cask and bottled at natural cask strength, exclusive to John Milroy. Light golden color with an elegant long lingering aroma of peat and smoke. Fills the palate  with an exquisite coating of tarry seaweed infused with sublime smokey peat and a long nutty fruit finish. Enhanced by the addition of a little water.

Closed in 1983, Port Ellen has since become a highly collectible whisky and one with a great fan following.

This Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Springbank Distillery was matured for 10 years in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. It offers a complex mixture of mineral-earthy and fruity notes. Nose: Orchard fruit (pear) with a hint of peat, vanilla and malt. Palate: Malt, oak, spice, nutmeg and cinnamon, vanilla essence. Finish: Sweet, with a lingering salty tingle (Tasting Notes from the distillery).  World Whiskies Award 2014.

Estimated to be bottled in the 1980s, this bottling offers sherry sweet and fruity flavours with some notes of vanilla and old rum, long and spicy finish. Scored 5 stars on Whiskyfun (91 points).
